Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum upload size?
Last Updated 8 years ago
Your hosting company sets limits on your account:
1. Limits the size of the individual file size that can be uploaded - max file upload size
2. Limits the size of the total amount of data - post max size
We doesn’t control these limits, Wordpress just reports the limits based on the lesser of those two.
Your host’s FAQs or contacting your host should be able to help you change your limits. You need to check both limits of your individual file size and total amount of data.
Please also try to tick the box to "ignore all folders except WP folders..." so that the relevant wp folders are used. This might be making your back up far larger than it should be.
